About the Role

A boutique healthcare communications and medical communications agency is looking for an Account Director, or a highly proactive Senior Account Manager ready to step up, to join the team working across oncology and Medical Affairs accounts.   This role is suited to someone who is already operating with a strong level of independence and confidence in client leadership, whether that’s as a newly promoted AD or a SAM ready to make the move in the near future.   The agency is looking for someone who goes beyond being a safe pair of hands. Someone who thinks ahead, connects the dots across projects and actively contributes to account direction and growth.   The role You’ll take ownership across a range of accounts within a medical communications environment, leading projects across expert engagement, congress activity and digital deliverables, including websites. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll be expected to operate at a strategic level, managing client relationships confidently while helping guide wider account direction. This role will suit someone comfortable leading conversations, navigating ambiguity when challenges arise and bringing solutions rather than simply delivering against briefs.   The kind of person who will thrive here Experience within a healthcare communications, medical communications or medcomms agency environment Either a newly promoted Account Director or a highly proactive Senior Account Manager ready to step up Strong client leadership skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders Someone comfortable operating independently and communicating confidently at a strategic level Commercially aware, with an understanding of account growth, scope and opportunities within existing business Experience across Medical Affairs accounts, ideally within oncology Exposure to expert engagement, congress activity and digital projects Someone who actively drives conversations and contributes ideas, rather than working in a purely delivery-focused way Publications experience would be of interest, although it is not essential for this role   Why this role stands out Opportunity to take on genuine ownership and visibility within accounts A highly collaborative environment with close access to senior leadership Exposure to a varied mix of Medical Affairs and digital work The chance to play a meaningful role in account growth and direction, not just delivery
