Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, self-directed accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership of complex accounting areas, and drives continuous process improvement. The Accounting Lead will be responsible for core general ledger functions, technical accounting areas, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration across finance and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead core general ledger activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Perform detailed variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
Maintain balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepaids, payroll-related accounts, fixed assets, and goodwill
Own technical accounting areas such as lease accounting and depreciation schedules
Drive improvements and automation in accounting workflows to increase efficiency and scalability
Prepare and maintain audit-ready schedules and provide support for annual audits and quarterly reviews
Develop and maintain standardized reconciliation and reporting templates
Support compliance activities including sales tax filings and documentation
Partner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and FP&A to improve data flow and month-end processes
Monitor internal controls and support financial policies and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
6+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
Advanced Excel skills
Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite or similar preferred)
Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex accounting issues
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or progress toward certification
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience with reporting tools, data environments, or accounting process automation
Background supporting audits and regulated reporting environments
