About the Role
Unlocking access to care UW Health is proud to employ over 880 advanced practice providers (APPs) – nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified anesthesiologist assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified nurse midwives. Our practices span Dane County and the surrounding region with primary care, specialty ambulatory care and inpatient services provided at UW Health hospitals and clinics and many outreach locations. Be a voice at the table Through our Advanced Practice Provider Advisory Council led by clinical APPs, UW Health APPs help shape policy regarding professional advocacy, provider wellness, communication strategies and other workplace matters. In addition, UW Health APPs serve on over 70 local or organizational councils and committees across Wisconsin and northern Illinois, providing a valuable and visible voice at the table. Work at the top of your scope Our goal is to have our APPs working to the top of their scope, to be part of their team and to have a voice in how they practice medicine. At UW Health we have a robust leadership structure with 100% of our UW Health employed APPs reporting to either the Director of APPs, an APP Manager, or an APP Supervisor. This allows our APPs to be led and managed by those that understand their practice best. Grow in your career Our faculty and providers are passionate about developing the next generation of advanced practice providers. APPs at UW Health have many opportunities to further their professional development. From monthly APP Grand Rounds to extensive CME offerings and a state-of-the-art SIM lab, APPs at UW Health never stop learning. In addition to Academic Practice Partnerships with local NP and PA programs to train the next generation of APPs, we offer post-graduate training and opportunities to develop competency in specialty care. Benefits at a glance A benefits package that’s hard to beat Our vision is to build the best APP workforce in the nation, excelling in patient care, patient education and health care research. Accordingly, we offer a benefits package that stacks up among the best in the region. Your life is more than your work. Our full-time and part-time positions allow for scheduling flexibility that aligns with an optimal work/life balance. Employees also may join our Advanced Practice Provider Advisory Council, which seeks to continually enhance the workplace culture.
