We’re working with a children’s residential care provider seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join their team in Liverpool, supporting young people within a regulated children’s home environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional to step into a senior role, supporting the leadership team while helping to deliver safe, nurturing, and consistent care for young people.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts and ensuring high standards of care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading shifts and supporting the wider staff team

  • Promoting safeguarding and protecting children from harm

  • Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, development, and independence

  • Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people and delivering regular key work sessions

  • Supporting care planning, risk assessments, and placement reviews

  • Maintaining accurate records including daily logs, incidents, and safeguarding documentation

  • Promoting positive behaviour and using appropriate de-escalation strategies

  • Working closely with social workers, schools, and health professionals

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

  • Experience working with children and young people in residential settings

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff

  • A full UK driving licence

Experience in a senior residential role, knowledge of trauma-informed care, and familiarity with Ofsted frameworks would be advantageous.

  • £14.50 per hour plus £60 per sleep-in

  • Opportunity to develop leadership experience within a supportive team

  • Ongoing training and professional development

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives
