About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a full-time Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in the Dereham area from September 2026 on a long-term basis.
The setting supports pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, including learning difficulties, autism, communication needs and associated social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEN needs
- Support pupils following informal and semi-formal learning pathways
- Assist with the delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions
- Support the development of communication, independence and life skills
- Use sensory and communication-based strategies to promote engagement
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN (school, care or similar setting desirable)
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Understanding of autism, communication needs and personalised learning approaches
- Confidence supporting pupils with personal care needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
- Two education or school based references
