About the Role
About the role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Accrington , starting in September . This is a full-time, temporary position running until Christmas , providing valuable support to pupils with special educational needs both within the classroom and through targeted interventions. The successful candidate will join an inclusive and nurturing school community that is committed to ensuring every child feels supported, valued and empowered to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual needs. Implement strategies and interventions outlined in EHCPs and support plans. Encourage pupil engagement, independence and positive social interactions. Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate. Pre-requisites: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, teaching assistance or a related field. Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language difficulties. An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. Two education or school-based references. A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
