There are three divisions within Land O'Lakes, Inc.: Dairy Foods ($5 Billion), Winfield Crop Inputs ($5 Billion) and Purina Animal Nutrition ($4 Billion).</p><p></p><p>Position: We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional in the <b>Cattle Animal Nutrition Industry</b> to lead strategic growth initiatives for the <b>Cattle feed portfolio</b>, including oversite of our commercial specialty portfolio. This role owns the <b>P&L and marketing strategy</b>, including budget planning, product assortment and innovation, channel placement/strategy, pricing, and promotions.</p><p></p><p>As a <b>cross-functional team leader</b>, you will collaborate with <b>R&D, Sales, Central Marketing, Additive Marketing, Supply Chain, and Income Optimization</b> to drive innovation and execute business plans. A strong emphasis on <b>grass cattle with experience in the space</b> is critical to success. The ideal candidate will also engage with key <b>industry leaders and suppliers</b> to advance strategic objectives.</p><p></p><p><b>Job Scope:</b></p><ul><li><p>Responsible for developing and executing the Annual and Long-Range Business Plans; including Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Action Plans, Innovation Pipeline and Measurement (Key Performance Indicators)</p></li><li><p>Sets and leads marketing strategy; Product, Price, Placement & Promotion decisions, as well as fit with company capabilities, competitive Environment, and delivering on consumer/customer needs</p></li><li><p>Has P&L responsibility and is accountable for activities including (but not limited to) product improvements, SKU rationalization, market research (in conjunction with Corporate Insights team), innovation pipeline</p></li><li><p>Develops channel strategies based on consumer/customer needs to drive go-to-market strategies</p></li><li><p>Manages marketing and trade budget. Anticipates business performance trends and makes adjustments necessary to achieve plan.</p></li><li><p>Develops the tools, programs, trade and pricing strategies and promotions to support product initiatives</p></li><li><p>Leads cross-functional teams (Sales, Central Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Income Optimization) to identify, prioritize and execute initiatives to meet business performance targets (volume, profit)</p></li><li><p>Leverages sales, customer, and channel insights to develop product selling stories</p></li><li><p>Evaluate new business opportunities for strategic fit, operational feasibility, profit, volume, etc.</p></li><li><p>Manage 1-2 direct reports (Associate Marketing Managers); Provide training, feedback, coaching, mentoring, and career path guidance.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Competencies-Skills (Required):         </span></b></p><ul><li><p>5+ years marketing experience, including P&L ownership</p></li><li><p>MBA preferred; 4-year degree required</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills</p></li><li><p>Experience in developing and managing business cases</p></li><li><p><span>Strategic thinking</span>, creativity, effective analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities</p></li><li><p>Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results in a positive manner</p></li><li><p><span>Self-motivated and able to own projects and to execute with focus and accountability</span></p></li><li><p>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Competencies-Skills (Preferred): </span></b></p><ul><li><p>5+ years of experience in the cattle industry</p></li><li><p>Previous B2B Marketing experience</p></li><li><p>Experience managing direct reports preferred</p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with Stage Gate / New Product Development</span> <span>process</span></p></li><li><p>Experience with brand and product marketing and business management, including annual/long-range planning, pricing/profit analysis, and execution of national/regional consumer and trade programs</p></li><li><p>Cross functional collaborator with experience in transformational change</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Travel</span></b> required up to 25%</p><p></p><p><b><span>Education:</span></b></p><ul><li><p>Masters or related degree with business experience is strongly preferred</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>The salary range for this role is $123,920 - $185,880. </span><span> In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges</span>.</p><p></p><p><i><span>Land O'Lakes does not use Automated Decision-Making Technology, as defined by California law, to substantially replace human decision-making or make significant decisions about applications for employment or contracting opportunities.</span></i> </p><p></p><p>#LI-KJ1</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>About Land O'Lakes, Inc.</b></p><p></p><p>Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
