MEP Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a leading international contractor specialising in the delivery of hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects across Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and complex engineering delivery, they provide full turnkey solutions from early-stage construction through to commissioning and handover.
Due to continued expansion across their European data centre portfolio, they are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre development in Amsterdam.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) packages. This includes cost control, procurement support, subcontractor management, valuations, and change management across complex, high-value building services installations.
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to ensure all MEP works are commercially controlled, accurately forecasted, and delivered in line with budget and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage all commercial aspects of MEP packages including HVAC, electrical, public health, and fire protection systems
• Prepare, assess, and agree interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow across MEP works
• Support procurement of MEP subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Manage variations, change orders, and compensation events in line with contract requirements
• Conduct subcontractor negotiations and manage contractual relationships
• Ensure accurate cost reporting and commercial forecasting to senior management
• Work closely with engineering teams to assess design changes and their commercial impact
• Support risk management and value engineering initiatives across MEP scope
• Assist in dispute resolution and contractual claims where required
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, project governance, and commercial procedures
• Liaise with project delivery teams to align cost control with programme and site progress

Key Requirements
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within MEP, building services, or complex construction projects
• Data centre or mission-critical project experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and installation sequencing
• Experience managing subcontractor packages and complex procurement processes
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC, JCT or FIDIC)
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost control capability
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and MEP design information
• Proficient in commercial reporting, forecasting, and project controls
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
