Mechanical Designer Tech IV

CTR Group is seeking a MECHANICAL DESIGNER, Senior Level, for a Government Site for our in the Newport News, VA area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring! Pay Range: $50 - $52 per Hour with Excellent Benefits. SUMMARY: This position calls for a Mechanical Designer who is self-motivated and has a proven track record of generating complex designs related to process plants such as chemical, petroleum and refrigeration facilities. The Mechanical Designer supports the design efforts of the 2 Kelvin cryogenic distribution system for the Electron-Ion Collider (EiC) project. The Mechanical Designer will be tasked to turn concepts and ideas into working assemblies and systems with independent thinking. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the layout and detailed design of heat exchangers, vacuum and cryogenic piping according to ASME codes and engineering requirements. This position requires the designer to produce accurate, simple, and cost-effective fabrication documentation (3D modeling, assemblies, and orthogonal drawings) using NX/Teamcenter and AutoCAD REQUIREMENTS: AS degree plus 3 years of experience in the engineering and design field. Candidate must have practical experience producing mechanical designs and fabrication drawings. Process plant experience is preferred. This position requires extensive knowledge of NX/Teamcenter, AutoCAD, blueprint interpretation and geometric tolerancing. Candidate will work directly with engineers and other designers as a team member and must be an effective communicator.
