Ideal candidates are passionate about agriculture and animal care, and eager to develop technical expertise and market knowledge. <br><br>Location: This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position that must be located within Carroll County, Maryland or surrounding counties. Willingness to travel within this territory to gain insights into the region and understand prospects. <br><br>Species focus: Calling primarily on horse owners to evaluate existing feeding programs, and to recommend and assist them with their nutritional programs.<br><br>Key Responsibilities: <br>Consistently complete 25+ farm and facilities visits to assess feeding programs and recommend solutions <br>Lead sales growth by introducing new feed products to customers and managing customer relationships <br>Drive, maintain, and leverage strong partnerships with dealers, co-ops, and Purina experts <br>Lead educational events and demonstrate deep product knowledge to promote products and strengthen and grow customer loyalty <br>Use CRM and analytics tools to track sales and identify strategic sales opportunities <br>Work independently, collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, and support product strategy and planning. <br>Apply deep business and industry skills to execute strategic sales plans and proactively identify growth opportunities <br> <br>Qualifications (Required): <br>Highschool diploma or equivalent <br>5-10 years industry experience or farm experience equivalent to sales experience or education <br>Experienced in feed formulation related to primarily equine, with less focus on grass cattle and chickens.<br>Successful budget management experience; financial literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual tools <br>Solid understanding of the industry, sales practices, or Purina products <br>Proven ability to build relationships and network to grow business <br>Strong sales drive with experience making frequent customer calls <br>Skilled in problem-solving and independent decision-making <br>Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills <br> <br>Qualifications (Preferred): <br>Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field preferred <br>Ability to formulate feed related to equine.<br>High internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, and leadership in a team environment. <br><br>Competencies & Other Skills <br>Adapt to changing market conditions with professionalism and integrity <br>Communicate clearly and organize work effectively <br>Build strong relationships and show leadership in teams <br>Make daily sales calls and interact with customers in various environments<br>Network within the industry to grow business <br>Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed <br>Deliver effective presentations <br>Work professionally with people at all levels <br>Solve problems quickly and effectively <br>Demonstrate agility and integrity in all interactions <br>Show initiative and think creatively to address challenges <br>Willingness to travel overnight (5–10%) and daily within assigned territory <br> <br>Compensation:<br>Salary Range: $72,000 - $88,000<br>Target Bonus: Twenty Thousand<br>In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.<br><br>Land O'Lakes does not use Automated Decision-Making Technology, as defined by California law, to substantially replace human decision-making or make significant decisions about applications for employment or contracting opportunities. <p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Grade:</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>E7
