Neighbourhood Officer – Manchester
£24–£26 per hour (Umbrella)
35 hours per week
Contract until end of May (rolling extension thereafter)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to join a busy social housing team in Manchester. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be confident managing a patch, delivering key performance targets, and providing high‑quality services to residents. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a designated housing patch, delivering key KPIs including tenancy sustainment, void turnaround, estate inspections, and case resolution times
Respond to tenancy breaches, ASB reports, and safeguarding concerns, taking appropriate enforcement or support‑based action
Conduct regular estate inspections, identifying repairs, health and safety issues, and ensuring timely follow‑up
Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external agencies to resolve complex tenancy and community issues
Maintain accurate case records and performance data, ensuring compliance with organisational and statutory requirements
Requirements
Previous experience as a Neighbourhood Officer, Housing Officer, or similar role within social housing
Strong understanding of tenancy management, ASB processes, safeguarding, and housing legislation
Ability to work to KPIs and performance targets in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
