Pharmacy Technician Compensation
- The pay for this position is $24.45 per hour.
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.
Pharmacy Technician Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
- The required availability for this position is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM with rotating weekends.
Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
- Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery
- Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels
- Prepare medications including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.)
- Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate prescription labels
- Participate in inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications
- Process returned medications according to pharmacy protoco
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers
- Assist with onboarding and training of new pharmacy staff
- Work in specialized pharmacy areas including Controlled Drugs/Narcotics Room
- Operate automated machines used to prepack medications
- Mix IV medications and sanitize IV room/equipment as needed
- Service facility-based dispensing machines such as RxNow
- Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned
Pharmacy Technician Requirements
- Active Pharmacy Technician license as required by the state
- Previous pharmacy experience require
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to operate a computer and recognize/identify medications accurately
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Effective oral communication and ability to work in a team environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.
Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications
- Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience with compounding, IV preparation, or medication packaging preferred
