About the Role
A Japanese financial institution in London is currently recruiting for a Planning Officer position. Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience Employment Type: Initial 6-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of extension based on performance) Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Responsibilities Provide overall project support, including preparation of presentation materials, data analysis, and other project-related tasks using Excel and PowerPoint. Monitor project progress and coordinate with relevant internal departments. Communicate in English with external vendors and consulting firms. Participate in internal and external meetings and follow up on action items. Conduct regular monitoring of departmental progress and activities. Manage schedules and coordinate timelines. Act as a liaison with the Head Office in Japan and other domestic and overseas stakeholders. Provide ad hoc administrative and operational support as required. Requirements Experience in a planning, strategy, or project-related function within a bank or securities firm. At least 3 years of working experience in a Japanese company or in Japan. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver work accurately within deadlines. Practical experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Comfortable managing documents and information through online platforms and systems. Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English. A proactive team player with a positive and collaborative attitude. Visa Requirements Applicants must generally hold a visa that allows them to work in the UK without sponsorship on a long-term basis. Candidates holding a Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa or Graduate Visa with at least one year of remaining validity may also be considered, depending on their experience.
