Compensation Range: $30 - 35 per hour
We are seeking a versatile Communications & Development Coordinator to serve as a key driver of our brand narrative and donor engagement strategies. In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio spanning high-quality print publications, dynamic digital content, and strategic media relations. You aren't just managing tasks; you are the operational thread that ensures our mission is communicated with clarity and impact across every touchpoint-from our 2026 Impact Report to our monthly digital news and social media presence.
This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the intersection of storytelling and technical execution. You will partner with freelance creatives, topic experts, and our Philanthropy team to ensure that every press release, donor appeal, and web update is perfectly aligned with our organizational goals. If you are a proactive communicator who can seamlessly pivot from drafting an op-ed to reporting on performance metrics, we want you to help us elevate our reach and deepen our connection with our community.
Responsibilities:
Publications and Print:
Oversee production of the following, including coordination with designers, topic experts and others to ensure timely delivery and brand alignment.
Fall 2026 magazine insert.
2026 Impact Report planning and story development.
Digital and Web:
Coordinate with freelance digital content contractor and communications coordinator on the development and execution of social media content (approx.. 2-3 posts/week) on Facebook and Instagram.
Support development of content for monthly News o Ensure timely updates to the landing page and associated content.
Track and report performance metrics for both social and web.
Media Relations:
Draft press releases, media advisories and op-eds as needed and coordinate distribution (potentially tract outreach).
Develop key talking points as needed o Coordinate with divisional media team on media lists and media outreach.
Track and report media coverage and impact.
Donor Communications:
Support development communications as needed in coordination with Director of Philanthropy (e.g. direct appeals, thank you cards)
Assist with donor stewardship reports as needed in coordination with Development Program Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, or marketing.
Strong writing, editing and project management skills.
Experience with digital content management.
Experience with media outreach.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with conservation or nonprofit communications preferred.
