You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting the wider commercial strategy of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Financial ManagementOversee financial performance across multiple projects, ensuring profitabilityPrepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsConduct cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and monthly reportingProduce accurate cost reports, valuations, and final accountsIdentify cost-saving and value engineering opportunitiesContract Administration & Risk ManagementManage contract preparation, negotiation, and administrationEnsure compliance with contractual and legal requirementsLead on variations, claims, and dispute resolutionManage Early Warning Notices, compensation events, and extensions of timePromote strong commercial awareness across project teamsProcurement & Supply ChainLead procurement strategy and subcontractor selectionNegotiate commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractorsManage subcontract accounts from procurement through to final accountMaintain procurement schedules and cost benchmarking dataLeadership & Team DevelopmentMentor and support junior Quantity SurveyorsContribute to commercial strategy and process improvementsSet objectives and support development plans for team membersWork collaboratively with operational and finance teamsCost Control, Reporting & ComplianceLead cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting processesEnsure financial documentation is accurate and audit-readyMaintain robust cost coding and site record systemsPresent financial updates to senior managementClient & Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholdersAct as a key commercial lead in meetings and negotiationsCollaborate closely with Project Managers and senior leadershipSenior Quantity Surveyor Position RequirementsProven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering, marine, or infrastructure sectorsStrong knowledge of contract management and commercial processesExperience managing high-value contracts and complex negotiationsExcellent financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical skillsStrong leadership and stakeholder management abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office and cost management systemsFull UK driving licenceQualificationsDegree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or similarMRICS or equivalent (highly desirable)CSCS carBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.
