Live-in Estate Couple in Somerset

On behalf of our private client, we are looking for a highly experienced, proactive Live-in Estate Couple to take full sole‑charge responsibility for the running, maintenance, security, and presentation of a private family Estate in Somerset.

This is a hands‑on, live‑in role suited to a hardworking couple who take pride in delivering consistently high standards, anticipate needs, and work with discretion and professionalism.

The property also includes outbuildings and stables, a swimming pool, and is home to the family’s dogs (must be pet friendly), offering a varied and well‑maintained rural working environment.

Days & Hours of work: 5 days per week, approximately 45 hours per week (Flexibility required when the family is in residence)

Responsibilities and Duties:

Housekeeper

• Seasonal travel to the family’s home in Greece is required.
• Full responsibility for interior housekeeping across the main house and additional properties
• High‑standard cleaning, laundry, linen, and wardrobe management
• Cooking for the family as required, confident with British and international cuisine
• Assisting with entertaining and guest hosting
• Household administration, stock control, deliveries, and errands
• Managing household systems, technology, security, and media
• Liaising with contractors and supporting the smooth running of the household

Maintenance / Groundsman

• Seasonal travel to the family’s home in Greece is required.
• Maintenance of gardens, lawns, estate grounds, and surrounding land
• General repairs, DIY, and preventative maintenance across the estate
• Operation and upkeep of garden and estate machinery
• Pool maintenance, log cutting, fire preparation, and pressure washing
• Care of the family dogs
• Managing CCTV, alarms, gates, and estate security
• Daily checks, tool and key management, and general estate support

Accommodation: Renovated one‑bedroom cottage provided (live‑in)

Salary: £80,000–£90,000 gross per year (combined)

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
