Speech & Language Support Assistant - Harrogate

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Support Assistant to join a supportive school in the Harrogate area on a long-term basis.

This full-time role is due to commence September , with shortlisting currently underway. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with speech, language, and communication needs to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with speech, language, and communication needs on a one‑to‑one or small‑group basis
• Delivering targeted communication activities and interventions under the guidance of teaching staff and specialists
• Working closely with teachers, SEND staff, and external professionals to support pupils’ progress and engagement

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant experience working with children or young people with speech, language, and communication needs
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND within an educational setting
• A good understanding of communication support strategies and inclusive practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Two education or school‑based references
