COLD STORE OPERATIVE

Posted: 17th March 2026 Salary: Pay: £12.73-£18.50 per hour Location: Wincanton Reference: YColdstore Job Description: Cold store operative to work in our despatch department. General duties would include: – Loading lorries and completing despatch documentation. – Wrapping full pallets of product using automated pallet wrapping machine. – Preparing various sales orders for despatch. – Supplying pallet bases into and clearing completed pallets of finished product from production lines in a timely fashion to ensure smooth running of production department. – Stock-taking and stock rotation duties. – Would be an advantage if used hand scanners before but full training provided. -Valid counterbalance, electric pallet truck, and ideally VNA truck licences required. – Basic computer skills would be an advantage but full training on our systems will be given. – Good communication skills will be a necessity to be able to easily communicate with other departments, planning team and management. This job is on a temp to perm basis. Pay rates while on agency terms would be: 6-2 & 2-10 shifts = £12.73/hour 10-6 shift = £18.50/hour. If and when a full-time contract is awarded the salary will be approx. £30k per year.
