The Role
As a CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for the efficient inspection and verification of precision machined components, ensuring they meet strict customer specifications and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesConducting first-off, interim, and batch inspections of machined components using a variety of measurement equipment
Ensuring accurate measurement through correct selection of CMM probes and attachments
Developing and documenting fixturing requirements for products
Producing clear and accurate CMM and manual inspection reports
Analysing CMM reports and identifying non-conforming features or measurements approaching tolerance limits
Liaising with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain specification compliance
Performing final “customer eyes” visual inspections to ensure finished components meet required standards
Reviewing and monitoring CMM programs to improve efficiency while maintaining measurement integrity
Carrying out CMM calibration where required
Producing corrective action reports for non-conforming products
Signing off jobs following satisfactory first-off or interim sample inspections
Supporting inspection activities both within the inspection department and on the shop floor

Qualifications & ExperienceSolid experience inspecting precision machined components using a range of measurement techniques
Experience using inspection equipment such as CMM, vision CMM, shadow graphs, and other engineering measurement tools
Practical experience with PC-DMIS software (experience with Calypso for Zeiss also beneficial)
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings for dimensional and visual inspection
Experience producing inspection documentation, control plans, and standard operating procedures
Relevant industry experience within precision machining or advanced manufacturing environments
Working HoursFull-time, permanent position
37 hours per week
Initially working day shift during training, before moving onto a three-shift rotation (early, back, and night shifts) once fully trained
What’s on OfferUp to £22.01 per hour, depending on experience, with shift allowance once fully trained
