About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Officer to join a supportive school in the Leeds area on a long-term basis.
This full-time role is due to commence September, with shortlisting currently underway. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and sensory impairments, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing classroom-based support to pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Assisting students with communication, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning activities
- Working alongside teaching and SEND staff to implement individual learning and behaviour plans
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or sensory impairments
- A good understanding of health and safety within an educational setting
- The ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including supporting wheelchair users following appropriate training
- A flexible and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Two education or school-based references
