About the Role

Picking and Packing Operative

My client offers innovative direct mail production, print and design services throughout the UK, working with both independent businesses and blue-chip companies. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we are seeking a Picking and Packing Operative to support our expanding operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Picking and packing requested orders for a variety of jobs

  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required

  • Ensuring accuracy of order information

  • Identifying and reporting any errors or issues during the picking and packing process

  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control programmes

  • Collaborating with managers and colleagues to implement company policies and goals

  • Identifying training needs

  • Following company procedures related to Health & Safety, including equipment checks and prompt reporting of accidents or injuries

  • Promoting a positive culture around Health, Safety & Environment and ensuring effective systems are in place

  • Ensuring the safety of oneself and others

  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment

Additional Duties:

Packing staff will be expected to carry out a variety of tasks, including preparing and packing goods, as well as general warehouse duties.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Ideally previous packing experience

  • Good level of communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Working Hours:

You’ll work a 37.5-hour week across 5 days, covering either early or late shifts:

Earlies:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:30–16:30

  • Sunday: 08:30–16:30

Lates:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:30–18:30

  • Sunday: 10:30–18:30
