As a System Analyst – B2B Integration & API Design, you will be working for our client, a leader in digital integration solutions. You will play a pivotal role in translating complex business processes into robust interface specifications, ensuring consistent, secure, and high-performance data exchanges across multiple systems and domains. Your main responsibilities: Elicit and consolidate requirements through interviews, workshops, and structured documentation, including user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria. Design and specify APIs (REST/SOAP), payload definitions (JSON/XML/CSV), and mapping rules, incorporating error handling and non-functional requirements like security and performance. Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure conceptual designs align with business goals and technical constraints. Support delivery activities such as backlog refinement, clarifications during development, and proactive mitigation of integration risks. Define end-to-end test scenarios, support UAT, and facilitate stakeholder alignment through structured communication and process modeling. Maintain documentation adherence to industry standards, including traceability, versioning, and governance frameworks. Manage tools such as Jira, Confluence, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and Git to ensure efficient workflow. You're ideal for this role if you have: At least 5 years of experience in requirements engineering or business analysis for integration projects involving bidirectional interfaces. Proven expertise in API contract design (REST/SOAP), payload mapping, error handling, and non-functional requirements. Strong understanding of process modeling (BPMN/UML) and Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban). Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Swagger, Postman, and version control systems. Excellent stakeholder facilitation skills, structured communication, and ability to work collaboratively in remote and on-site teams. It is a strong plus if you have: Knowledge of industry frameworks and governance practices related to change, versioning, and traceability. Certifications in business analysis or requirements engineering. Language Required for the role: Fluent in English; working proficiency in German.
