Functie As European Freight Manager a.i., your responsibilities will include: Managing all European freight processes to ensure carriers and forwarders operate in line with company standards and expectations. Full accountability for European freight vendors, ensuring performance across service, safety, sustainability, and compliance. Ownership of freight budgets, including ongoing analysis, optimisation of freight spend, and monthly reporting to senior management. Managing the European third-party warehouse network, ensuring performance, standards compliance, and budget adherence. Developing and implementing new freight strategies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Acting as deputy to the European Logistics Manager, including representation in SC EMEA management forums when required. Leading and delivering logistics and supply chain projects, with a focus on cost reduction and optimisation. Resolving freight-related issues including damages, delays, and operational disruptions. Profiel The successful European Freight Manager a.i. will bring: At least 2 years' experience within logistics, ideally across warehousing and road/ocean freight. Strong knowledge of European freight and warehousing regulations (EVOFENEDEX or similar preferred). Proven experience managing carriers, forwarders, and third-party logistics partners. Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of SAP and solid proficiency in MS Office. Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal. A proactive, agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
