The Academic Tutor works in collaboration with faculty, advisors, and student support services to assist students in developing effective learning strategies, study skills, and academic confidence. This position supports the delivery of tutoring, workshops, and academic skill-building services that help students succeed independently. Salary Range: $21.89 - $31.44 Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job) Associate degree or higher in Liberal Arts AND at least one academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in the liberal arts at the high school level or above, OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience. Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job) Bachelor's degree Experience providing 1:1 and small group tutoring in Liberal Arts courses at the postsecondary level. Experience monitoring student progress and collaborating with faculty to support academic achievement. Experience facilitating workshops or small group academic support sessions. Knowledge of TRIO Student Support Services program goals and federal regulations. Experience working with diverse student populations in a community or technical college setting. Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback. Familiarity with policies and issues affecting low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Demonstrated commitment to student success and helping students achieve academic goals. Experience applying diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices in academic support environments. Personal, academic, or professional experience overcoming barriers similar to those faced by TRIO-eligible students.
