About the Role
<p><strong>Duration:</strong> ASAP start – end of July 2026 (possible extension depending on permanent recruitment)<br /><strong>Location:</strong> 2–3 days per week in the office<br /><strong>Day Rate:</strong> Candidate‑driven / negotiable<br /><strong>Interview:</strong> Microsoft Teams</p>
<p><em><strong>Overview</strong></em></p>
<p>We have multiple vacancies within Financial Accounting that were previously filled by interim resource. One interim is leaving, and although the service is now moving to permanent recruitment, there is an urgent need for <strong>interim support</strong> to ensure completion of the <strong>Statement of Accounts</strong> and <strong>year-end close down</strong>.</p>
<p><em><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></em></p>

<ul>
<li>Lead and deliver the <strong>year‑end close down</strong> process</li>
<li>Prepare and support the completion of the <strong>Statement of Accounts</strong> (Local Authority)</li>
<li>Provide hands‑on technical accounting support during a busy period</li>
<li>Work closely with internal finance teams to support statutory reporting deadlines</li>
<li><em><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></em></li>
<li><strong>Fully qualified accountant</strong> (CIPFA preferred; CCAB also considered)</li>
<li><strong>Proven hands-on experience</strong> of local authority <strong>year-end close down</strong></li>
<li>Strong background in preparing <strong>Statement of Accounts</strong> within a local authority setting</li>
<li>Ability to hit the ground running with minimal handholding</li>
<li>Prior Local Authority Experience </li>
<li>Recently led LA year end and production of SoA.</li>
</ul>
