Development ManagerBuild-to-Rent Residential * London * Permanent We're partnering with a well-regarded residential developer on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to take ownership of a significant Build-to-Rent project in London. Around 300 units, institutionally backed, and at an exciting stage in its lifecycle - this is the kind of role where you can really make your mark.If you're a delivery-focused development professional who knows the London BTR market and thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality environment, we'd love to hear from you. The Role Reporting to the Development Director, you'll have end-to-end responsibility for managing this sizeable residential scheme - from pre-construction through to practical completion and stabilisation. Day to day, you'll be managing consultants and contractors, keeping a tight grip on programme and budget, and acting as the key point of contact for investors and stakeholders.This is a broad, hands-on role that covers everything from planning and statutory compliance to financial management, ESG delivery, and handover - so you'll need to be comfortable moving across all aspects of the development process. What You'll Be Doing Leading day-to-day delivery of a large-scale BTR residential scheme from planning through practical completionManaging a multidisciplinary consultant team and coordinating with the main contractorOverseeing design development with a focus on BTR operational requirements and resident experienceMonitoring programme, cost, and risk, with regular reporting to senior stakeholders and investorsManaging planning obligations and liaising with statutory and local authoritiesSupporting financial modelling, appraisals, cashflow forecasting, and funding drawdownsDriving ESG and sustainability commitments through the design and delivery processOverseeing handover to operations, snagging, and the stabilisation periodManaging final account negotiations and project close-out What We're Looking For Solid experience in UK residential development, ideally with a London focusTrack record of delivering mid- to large-scale residential schemesFamiliarity with BTR or institutionally funded residential projectsGood working knowledge of the London planning frameworkStrong commercial acumen and cost control capabilityConfident managing consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholdersKnowledge of JCT contracts and development funding structuresMRICS, MCIOB or equivalent qualification is a bonus, but not essential The Package A competitive salary is on offer, commensurate with experience, alongside a pension scheme and private healthcare.
