Birmingham - Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding Team

Birmingham Children's Trust is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner for the Safeguarding Team. Location:- Lifford House, 45 Fordhouse Lane, B30 3BN Payrate:- Up To £33.30 per hour (Umbrella) Key Responsibilities: - Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need Undertaking Initial Assessments Undertaking Core Assessments Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries Undertaking Pre-Birth Assessments Undertaking Parenting Assessments Undertaking assessments Undertaking Risk Assessments Completion of Section 7 reports requested by Family Courts Completion of Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children Liaising/ Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/ young people's needs Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans Initiating Care Proceedings Completion of Care Proceedings Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders Organising/managing packages of care Preparing and presenting case conference reports Completing/reviewing/implementing CIN plans Chairing Children in Need meetings Attending court and giving evidence when required Essential Requirements: Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services Social Work England Registration Driving license and access to own vehicle If you are interested in this position, please send your CV to Yug Vaishnav at or call on 020 4574 3378.
