Data Migration Lead - £600 per day (Outside IR35)Location: Midlands Contract: 12 monthsOur client, a progressive Midlands based local authority, is seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to support a major transformation programme. This role will focus on the migration of complex datasets from legacy housing systems, including Capita Open Housing, into a new target platform.The RoleAs the Data Migration Lead, you will take ownership of the end to end data migration process. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and system suppliers, you will ensure the accurate, secure, and efficient migration of data into the new environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with SMEs, business leads, and users to define and document data migration requirementsDevelop a comprehensive data migration strategy aligned with the target system supplier's approachCreate and manage the data migration plan in line with the overall programme delivery scheduleConduct audits of existing data sources and collaborate with stakeholders to define migration business rulesIdentify and address data quality issues to ensure successful migration outcomesSupport ETL processes and work closely with supplier data migration consultantsLead and coordinate testing activities, including unit testing, data validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)Ensure compliance with data protection standards when handling personal dataWork collaboratively across project workstreams to support deliveryKey Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Data Migration Lead on complex transformation programmesExperience with legacy housing systems, ideally Capita Open HousingStrong knowledge of ETL processes and frameworksProficiency in SQL, scripting, and data extraction techniquesExperience working with multiple data sources migrating into one or more target systemsHigh attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy and integrityStrong problem solving skills with a pragmatic, solution focused approachExperience in local government or public sector environments is advantageousSolid understanding of data governance and data protection principlesWhat's on Offer£600 per day (Outside IR35)12 month contract on a high-profile transformation programmeOpportunity to lead a critical workstream and engage with senior stakeholdersHybrid working arrangements
