Open-Rank Tenured Faculty Position in Theoretical Quantum Computing and Quantum Materials Vanderbilt University: College of Arts and Science: Natural Sciences: Physics & Astronomy

Description

Vanderbilt University’s Departments of Physics & Astronomy and Computer Science jointly invite applications for an open-rank tenured faculty position in the field of theoretical quantum computing and quantum materials. The primary research focus area will be quantum materials by design, emphasizing quantum computation, quantum optics, quantum sensing, and quantum information. The successful applicant will utilize and advance AI methodologies to tackle complex challenges in quantum system simulations and quantum computation. The search will be conducted jointly with the College of Connected Computing. Collaboration with quantum materials researchers from the College of Arts and Science and the School of Engineering, as well as computer and data scientists in the College of Connected Computing is strongly encouraged. The candidate is also expected to pursue active partnership with the Quantum Computing Institute and Center of Nanophase Materials at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
