<h3>Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Leicestershire</h3>
<p>A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to take on a <strong>Lead Vet</strong> position within a progressive small animal hospital in Leicestershire. This is an exciting leadership role with the chance to shape the direction of a new, state-of-the-art facility opening in 2026.</p>
<h4>The Role</h4>
<ul>

<p><strong>Hours:</strong> 4-day week, 8:00–18:00 or 8:30–18:30</p>
<li>
<p><strong>Weekends:</strong> 1:5 rotation, with no on-call duties</p>
<li>
<p><strong>Leadership time:</strong> Protected administration and management time each week</p>
<li>
<p><strong>Salary:</strong> Up to £75,000 per annum (DOE)</p>

<p>The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work closely with the Clinical Director to oversee clinical standards, team development, and day-to-day operations of the hospital. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the transition to a brand-new, purpose-built site featuring advanced facilities including CT.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>

<p>Providing clinical leadership and mentorship across the veterinary team</p>
<li>
<p>Supporting the move into the new hospital site and maintaining service continuity</p>
<li>
<p>Encouraging and guiding graduate and developing vets</p>
<li>
<p>Overseeing clinical governance, compliance, and best-practice standards</p>
<li>
<p>Collaborating with management on rota planning and team wellbeing</p>
</ul>
<h4>About You</h4>
<p>The ideal candidate will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon with proven leadership experience and a commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care. Ideally with an interest in small animal medicine or diagnostic imaging – and enjoy mentoring others while maintaining hands-on clinical work.</p>
