Product Owner – MAX Online About the Role We are looking for a Product Owner to support the development and continuous improvement of MAX Online, Malmberg and Sanoma’s secondary education learning platform. MAX Online helps teachers achieve the best outcomes for every pupil through high‑quality teaching materials, time-saving tools, and adaptive learning support. The Junior Product Owner strengthens the product team by combining business analysis, product management support, and delivery execution into one role. The purpose of this role is to ensure that business needs are transformed into well-prepared, clearly scoped, and predictably delivered product work, while collaborating with the Product Team Lead on strategy, prioritisation, and outcomes. You will join a collaborative, international, and highly skilled team where initiative is valued and supported. The working environment is flexible, informal, and focused on delivering results that matter and your home office is located in Den Bosch. Your key responsibilities Product Management: Define, prioritise, and continuously refine areas of the Product backlog Manage improvement requests and communicate updates to both internal and external stakeholders Collaborate with other stakeholders to clarify problems to solve, success metrics and ensure proper communication and adoption of product increments. Conduct independent and collaborative research to identify development opportunities and contribute to the evolution of our value proposition, Support discovery activities with UX and engineering to reduce ambiguity early undefined. Team Enablement & Delivery Execution Own product readiness for planning events Track progress of committed work across sprints and releases Monitor delivery timelines, dependencies, and risks Proactively identify, raise, and help resolve blockers Ensure delivery remains transparent, predictable, and aligned with priorities Support the team in maintaining focus and flow during execution Work closely with the scrum master to support a team culture that people enjoy working in Job requirements Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and product management skills, delivering successful outcomes Familiarity with UX discovery and validation practices Understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery flow Be a strong team player with experience working in a matrix environment, promoting effective collaboration across teams and products 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner/senior BA or in other relevant positions – ideally with experience managing products that have a strong front-end components Display knowledge and proficiency in agile practices, preferably Scrum Exhibit exceptional communication skills, capable of defining clear development stories tailored to diverse audiences Possess fluent communication skills in written and spoken Dutch and English. Previous experience in the educational industry is a significant advantage, demonstrating an understanding of the sector's unique challenges and opportunities.
