Our client, a dynamic and highly regarded accountancy firm based in Seaton, is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The Senior Accountant role offers a salary of up to £38,000, alongside hybrid working and the opportunity to take on a genuinely hands-on position within the business. You will work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, contributing to key financial decisions, managing day-to-day accounting requirements, and playing an active role in supporting the continued growth and success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients across sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
- Completion and submission of personal and corporate tax returns
- Preparation and review of VAT returns and management accounts
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Supporting clients with day-to-day financial and business queries
- Reviewing and supporting the work of junior team members, providing guidance and training where needed
- Assisting partners with advisory work, business planning, and ad hoc projects
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accounting, and tax requirements
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to clients
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax within a practice environment
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience with strong relevant experience
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build long-term relationships
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines while managing multiple priorities
- A proactive and commercially aware mindset
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff (highly desirable)
- Confidence using accounting software and cloud-based systems
