- Variable shifts — 8, 10, or 12 hrs; evenings and weekends prioritized
- In-house call required
- Simple, uncomplicated practice — mostly ASA 2 patients
- No cardiac, thoracic, or trauma cases
- Healthy pediatric patients older than 2 years — limited volume
- General anesthesia across multiple case types required
- Community practice experience appropriate
- Pediatric anesthesia preferred — can avoid if not comfortable
