About the Role
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Implement and prototype innovative algorithms for disaggregated RAN, security/Zero Trust, and Radio Resource Management (RRM). Potentially with the use of L1/L2/L3 emulators (commercial ones as well). </p></li><li><p>Design and implement xApp/rApp applications for the O-RAN ecosystem using RIC API and E2/R2 interfaces.</p></li><li><p>Deploy AI/ML-driven solutions for network optimization (e.g. based on reinforcement learning, swarm optimization or similar</p></li><li><p>Work with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes) to deploy and scale network applications.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate on research projects that may lead to patent applications (and/or papers).</p></li><li><p>Integrate selected security solutions e.g. encryption (TLS/PKI, IPSec), Zero Trust architectures.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong programming skills in <strong>Python (prototyping, AI/ML) - JAVA or C/C++</strong> knowledge will be a plus.</p></li><li><p>Good understanding of <strong>5G/6G architecture and O-RAN Alliance standards</strong> (RIC, E2AP, R1, O-CU/O-DU).</p></li><li><p>Experience working in <strong>cloud-native environments: Kubernetes, CI/CD.</strong></p></li><li><p>Basic knowledge of security principles<strong> (e.g. Zero Trust, TLS/PKI, IPSec).</strong></p></li><li><p>Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and work with technical documentation <strong>(3GPP, O-RAN).</strong></p></li><li><p>Good command of English.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Nice-to-Have</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience in Radio Resource Management (scheduling, interference management, load balancing).</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience creating xApp/rApp applications (RIC SDK, E2/R1 interface).</p></li><li><p>Practical AI/ML experience: reinforcement learning, anomaly detection.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of libraries and HW suitable for fronthaul/midhaul optimization (eCPRI, DPDK, eBPF, SmartNIC/GPU).</p></li><li><p>Experience in MLOps (deploying AI models in telecom environments).</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with network simulators: MATLAB, ns-3.</p></li><li><p>R&D experience (publications, patents).</p></li></ul><h2><strong>About IS-Wireless</strong></h2><p>IS-Wireless is a top European <strong>deep-tech innovator</strong>, awarded the<strong> EIC Seal of Excellence</strong> and holder of 10+ patents.
