<p><strong>Job Title: Entry Level Maintenance Technician</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>Join a high-volume food processing facility as an Entry Level Maintenance Technician, where you will support production by maintaining and repairing high-speed packaging and processing equipment. You will perform both preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, working approximately 70% on mechanical tasks and 30% on electrical tasks, including work on electrical panels up to 480V.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Perform preventative maintenance on high-speed packaging, sizing, hopping, splitting, cutting, and shaping equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment, including work on 480V and 3-phase systems, to keep the facility running efficiently.</li><li>Work safely with electrical panels and systems up to 480V, following all safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices when addressing electrical issues.</li><li>Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions using blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.</li><li>Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, supervisors, and production staff to prioritize work orders and support production schedules.</li><li>Use hand tools and basic maintenance tools to perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and component replacements on equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Foundational knowledge of industrial electricity gained through trade school or similar training, with the ability to work safely on systems up to 480V and 3-phase power.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical and mechanical schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.</li><li>Basic experience or training in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems, including the ability to demonstrate these skills through a written test.</li><li>Familiarity with high-speed packaging equipment and an understanding of how to identify and resolve common mechanical and electrical issues.</li><li>Exposure to or training in hydraulics and pneumatics as they relate to industrial machinery.</li><li>Capability to perform preventative maintenance tasks, including inspections, adjustments, and component replacements, according to a maintenance plan.</li><li>Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and health and safety standards in a food processing environment.</li><li>High school diploma or technical school education preferred.</li><li>Willingness to work in an entry-level maintenance role and develop skills in industrial maintenance.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Completion of a trade school program in industrial electricity or a related field is strongly preferred.</li><li>Education from institutions with a focus on industrial maintenance or electrical training, such as technical colleges, is highly valued.</li><li>Experience or coursework involving 480V, 3-phase electrical systems, 220V systems, and industrial control panels.</li><li>Familiarity with high-speed packaging environments, including prior exposure to packaging lines, conveyors, and automated equipment.</li><li>Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics used in industrial machinery.</li><li>Ability to interpret and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints for troubleshooting and repairs.</li><li>Ownership of a basic set of hand tools is beneficial; for true entry-level candidates, tools are not strictly required.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKLIN PARK, IL.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $26.00/hr.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
