Traffic Control Flagger

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is hiring a Traffic Control Flagger in Hopewell, VA. The Traffic Control Flagger is responsible for directing the flow of traffic around construction sites, road maintenance areas, and other work zones. This role involves setting up and taking down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades. Flaggers use hand signals, signs, stop/slow paddles, and other traffic control devices to communicate with motorists and guide them through or around the work area. Essential functions include setting up signs, cones, and traffic control devices, managing traffic flow, communicating with team members using two-way radios, standing and walking for up to 10 hours a day, lifting and moving items over 50 pounds, driving company vehicles, performing routine vehicle inspections, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and following company policies and procedures. Requirements include a valid driver's license, passing a background check, passing a motor vehicle records check, passing a drug test, meeting federal DOT requirements, wearing proper safety equipment, operating a two-way radio, working in various weather conditions and traffic settings, communicating with contractors and internal teams, working well in a team environment, reliable transportation, excellent attendance, completion of ATSSA Flagger training and company-sponsored Defensive Driver training, willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays, ability to work nights and weekends as required by projects, and availability for a rotating on-call schedule. The pay range is $17.00 to $17.50 per hour. This is a full-time, field-based traffic control position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans for those who qualify.
