About the Role
<p class="MsoNormal">As a Lead Design Engineer located in Columbus, OH, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the creation, development, and maintenance of electrical products. This role involves hands-on work in executing product designs, supporting manufacturing processes, and driving improvements in both current and new product lines.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Working collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customers, you will deliver dependable and cost-efficient solutions for electrical products that meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to other engineers and technical staff.</p>

<li class="MsoNormal">Conceptualize and develop electrical products from start to finish.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Create and assess engineering calculations, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Conduct and interpret analyses on electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical characteristics to enhance motor performance and reliability.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Assist with prototype builds, testing, and validation processes; analyze results and implement design enhancements.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Contribute to product qualification, life testing, and compliance evaluations.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are easily produced, replicable, and cost-effective.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Provide engineering support for production-related issues, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Engage in value engineering and continuous improvement projects.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Assist in addressing customer requirements, evaluating feasibility, and offering technical solutions.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to resolve technical challenges and promote successful product launches.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Participate in annual budget discussions and initiatives for cost reduction.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, advocating for best practices in design, documentation, and troubleshooting.</li>

<p class="MsoNormal">Requirements</p>

<li class="MsoNormal">Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with a focus on electrical or rotating machinery design.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Proficiency with Autodesk CAD tools and engineering analysis techniques.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Knowledge of electric motor fundamentals, including windings, magnets, laminations, bearings, and insulation systems.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with relevant standards such as UL, IEC, NEMA, CE, and RoHS.</li>
