About the role:
As a Secondary Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. You will help promote positive behaviour, encourage engagement in learning, and support pupils in overcoming barriers to education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence.
- Support pupils in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively.
- Work alongside teaching staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and attendance where required.
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with young people is desirable.
- Previous experience in behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or education is advantageous.
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Suitable for graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, support workers, teaching assistants, and those considering a career in education.
