About the Role

Butler Rose is delighted to be working alongside one of our top clients based in Buckingham, who have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Control Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term basis until June 2027. This is an office-based role offering a salary of £28,650 per annum. The Role: The position sits within a busy finance function, where there is a high volume of invoicing, regular correspondence with customers, and face-to-face queries. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent concentration, and the ability to manage detailed reconciliations. The organisation is currently migrating to a new management system, making this an exciting opportunity for someone adaptable who is comfortable working through system changes and process improvements. Key Responsibilities: * Produce accurate and timely invoices, allocate payments, and maintain financial records. * Manage debt collection processes, monitor outstanding balances, and support referrals to collection agencies where required. * Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies arising from imported data. * Review and validate charges to ensure accuracy and clarity. * Respond to customer queries (both written and face-to-face) regarding invoices, payments, and financial matters. * Provide financial information to internal stakeholders and support reporting and compliance activities. * Support system migration activities and assist with process improvements as required. Key Requirements: * NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent), including English and Maths. * Proven experience in Sales Ledger and Credit Control, with strong reconciliation skills. * Sound accounting knowledge and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. * Strong systems proficiency * Experience supporting system implementation or process change advantageous. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and effectively to customers and stakeholders. * Strong empathy and cultural awareness when supporting a diverse customer base. * Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
