About the Role

About the role: Justteachers are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in King’s Lynn that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis, working every Thursday and Friday, on a one-year fixed-term contract starting in September. This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning across the primary age range, providing both classroom and small-group support while helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos and strong community values, ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed. This role would suit an adaptable, patient, and proactive individual who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a dedicated school team. Key Responsibilities: Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum, working with individual pupils, small groups, and whole classes as required. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners. Provide targeted interventions to support pupils’ academic progress, confidence, and independence. Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of children with varying abilities, including those with SEND where appropriate. Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce the school’s behaviour policies. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development through positive relationships and encouragement. Prepare classroom resources and assist with maintaining an organised and stimulating learning environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to support pupil development. Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and other school activities when required. Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all pupils at all times. Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing high-quality education for every child. Pre-requisites: Previous experience working with children within a primary school setting is desirable. Experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 would be advantageous. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A flexible and proactive attitude. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential. Two recent education-based references.
