About the Role
Role: Lead Test Engineer Client: Defense-Aerospace Hourly Rate: up to $65/hr (W2, non-benefited) Length: 1-year contract Location: Scottsdale, AZ Clearance: Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Description: Lead a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and direction Develop and maintain the test strategy for embedded products Architect test solutions that effectively validate system requirements Establish best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting Leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments with key program stakeholders Design comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of product functionality Develop automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ following company's coding standards Implement robust verification and validation methodologies Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams Establish integration procedures that ensure smooth component interaction Support AGILE implementation Create detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports Maintain accurate records of test activities and results Ability to develop ROMs in accordance with execution of requirements Conduct Performance reviews per process Required & Desired Skills: Experience leading 3 to 5 team members, holding team members accountable to program milestone execution Expert knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages, Python Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologies Experience with hardware/software integration testing Significant experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors Desired Skills: Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices Familiarity with embedded systems development and testing Experience with requirements management and traceability Background in defense or aerospace industries Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity Commitment to ongoing professional development Recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas Required Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
