HLA Laboratortory Quality Assurance Specialist

<p>We are an academic acute care medical center and one of New York&#8217;s premier academic health systems comprised of 14 hospitals and more than 200 outpatient ambulatory care sites. We are currently looking for a HLA Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing Transplant-Immunology Laboratory and oversee HLA Laboratory&#8217;s quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementatiom processes in collaboration with the HLA Laboratory Director.</p> <p>Position: HLA Laboratortory Quality Assurance Specialist<br /> Location: Bronx, NY<br /> Hours: Mon-Fri &#8211; 9am-5pm<br /> Salary: $104,000 &#8211; $130,000</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Ensures Regulatory Compliance, staff training, competencyassessments, and research and development activities<br /> Assists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs<br /> Helps staff with performing specialized Histocompatability and immunogenetics testing to anayze proteins on the surface of cells, crucial for matching organ and bone marrow transplant donors and recipients to prevent rejection<br /> Oversees STAT testing in swupport of living and deceased organ transplantation, platelet refractoriness, and HLA testing for other purposes, within the ASHI-accredited laboratory</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Must have a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of Laboratory training or experience in a clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics, and/or transplantation immunology Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI),<br /> or as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS)<br /> Certifications preferred but not required if experience with document control systems<br /> Proficiency in Microsoft Office<br /> Strong attention to detail and analytical skills</p>
