About the Role
<p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of EHV work programmes and HV switchgear replacement projects across substations ranging from 11kV up to and including 166kV.</p>
<p>This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to develop project delivery experience within HV/EHV substation environments. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the delivery of EHV work programmes and HV switchgear replacement projects (66kV).</li>
<li>Assist in coordinating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.</li>
<li>Support the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and progress reports.</li>
<li>Monitor project documentation, ensuring drawings, technical submissions, and site records are controlled and up to date.</li>
<li>Assist in tracking project costs, variations, and forecasting under the guidance of the Project Manager.</li>
<li>Attend internal and client meetings, recording actions and supporting follow-up activities.</li>
<li>Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to support procurement and delivery of materials and services.</li>
<li>Support risk management processes by identifying and escalating potential technical or programme risks.</li>
<li>Review technical documentation and drawings to gain understanding of project scope and requirements.</li>
<li>Participate in site visits to monitor progress, support issue resolution, and ensure works align with design and safety standards.</li>
<li>Promote compliance with Health & Safety policies and CDM Regulations across all activities.</li>
<li>Support change management processes, ensuring variations and updates are accurately recorded.</li>

<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or working towards).</li>
<li>Minimum 5+ years experience</li>
<li>Some experience or placement exposure within HV/EHV substations or electrical infrastructure projects is desirable.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of HV switchgear, primary plant, and substation environments (66kV).</li>
<li>Familiarity with project delivery processes within engineering or construction environments.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.</li>
<li>Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.</li>
<li>Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.</li>
<li>Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical and project management skills.</li>
<li>Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within construction or engineering environments.</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence (or working towards) and willingness to travel to project sites as required.</li>
