We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist residential childcare provider for a Residential Support Worker role in Sunderland.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people. You’ll help create a stable and positive home environment while encouraging independence, personal development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting children and young people with their daily routines and activities
• Building positive, trusting relationships
• Promoting wellbeing, independence, and life skills
• Maintaining a safe and supportive home environment
• Working closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals
• Following safeguarding policies and best practice standards
• Keeping accurate records and reports where required

About You

We’re looking for individuals who are:

• Caring, patient, and dependable
• Passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives
• Strong communicators with a team-focused approach
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins as required
• Experienced in residential care, childcare, support work, or a similar setting (desirable)
