<p><strong>Control Systems Engineer – Actemium Automation Teesside</strong></p><p><strong>Join a leading VINCI Energies business delivering advanced automation and control solutions across process, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.</strong><br>With a strong focus on technical excellence, safety, and innovation, we deliver sustainable automation projects for a diverse client base.</p><p><strong>Package:</strong> Competitive salary, contributory pension, Health Shield cashback plan, VINCI Share Scheme (salary sacrifice), EV Car Scheme (salary sacrifice), plus company workwear and PPE.</p><hr><h2><strong>About the Role</strong></h2><p>We’re looking for an experienced <strong>Control Systems Engineer</strong> with strong DCS expertise—ideally in <strong>Siemens PCS 7</strong> or <strong>Rockwell PlantPAx</strong>—to support project delivery, technical development, and customer success across our automation portfolio.</p><hr><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li><p>Design, configure and implement <strong>DCS systems</strong> (PCS 7 / PlantPAx) for industrial process automation projects.</p></li><li><p>Produce technical documents: I/O lists, control philosophies, specifications, and FDS/SDS.</p></li><li><p>Develop, test and commission PCS 7 / PlantPAx solutions both onsite and remotely.</p></li><li><p>Provide client-facing technical support, advice, and training throughout the project lifecycle.</p></li><li><p>Work collaboratively with engineering, SHEQ and project management teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery.</p></li><li><p>Support system upgrades, troubleshooting, obsolescence strategies, and ongoing DCS optimisation.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering standards and digital automation practices.</p></li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Candidate Profile</strong></h2><ul><li><p>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>PCS 7</strong> or <strong>PlantPAx</strong> (essential).</p></li><li><p>Background in control systems engineering, process automation, or systems integration.</p></li><li><p>Approx. <strong>3+ years</strong> in design, configuration and commissioning within process industries (chemicals, energy, pharma, FMCG, etc.).</p></li><li><p>Understanding of instrumentation, SCADA/HMI, industrial networks and safety systems.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of EC&I engineering deliverables and lifecycle documentation.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.</p></li><li><p>Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).</p></li><li><p>Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience with multiple control system vendors.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with AutoCAD and panel design principles.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of functional safety (SIL) and quality frameworks (e.g., GAMP 5).</p></li><li><p>Awareness of OT networking and cybersecurity principles.</p></li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Working Environment</strong></h2><p>Based at Actemium Automation Teesside with travel to client sites for commissioning and support. You’ll work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering varied automation projects within a positive safety culture.
