We’re looking for a Procurement & Strategic Category Lead for our public sector client based in London on an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £550 per day (Inside IR35).
This role offers hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the office as required for collaboration and key meetings.
The successful Procurement & Strategic Category Lead will be responsible for leading strategic procurement activity across key categories, delivering value for money, and supporting large-scale programmes within a complex public sector environment.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
• Strategic procurement and category management within the public sector
• Leading end-to-end procurement activity across complex programmes
• Commercial negotiations and supplier engagement
• Developing category strategies and procurement pipelines
• Stakeholder management across senior leadership, finance, legal, and operational teams
• Delivering value for money, social value, and compliance with procurement regulations
• Managing or leading teams within a procurement function
Experience within a local authority or wider public sector setting is highly desirable.
