Head of Property ManagementLocation: East London Salary: Circa £50,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm (1 remote day per month)The OpportunityThis is a genuine step-up role for an ambitious Senior Property Manager or Team Leader who wants to take ownership of a department, without losing touch with the work they love.The business is a well-regarded, long-established independent agency with a strong presence in East London. With a close-knit team, a characterful shopfront, and deep roots in the local community, this is the kind of place where people actually enjoy coming to work. They're growing, and they want the right person to help shape what comes next.The RoleAs Head of Property Management, you'll take the lead on the property management function; managing a primarily residential portfolio with a small block management element, line managing one Property Manager, and working closely with the Lettings Manager, negotiators, and accounts team.Crucially, you'll also have a seat at the table. Reporting directly into the founders, you'll contribute to the strategic direction of the department as the business expands, with real scope to grow your team over time.What You'll Be DoingLeading the property management department and directly managing one Property ManagerOverseeing a mixed residential and block management portfolio to a high standard of serviceActing as the key point of contact for landlord and tenant queries and escalationsWorking collaboratively across lettings, accounts, and the wider team to deliver a seamless client journeyEnsuring full compliance with lettings legislation - tenancy deposits, gas safety, EPCs, EICRs and beyondManaging maintenance and repairs end-to-end, from contractor liaison to resolutionContributing to the growth strategy of the PM departmentMaking effective use of the tech stack: Street, Goodlord, Resident, Fixflo, and CamaWhat We're Looking ForProven experience as a Senior Property Manager or Property Management Team LeaderStrong knowledge of residential lettings legislation and complianceNatural leadership qualities - someone who can manage, motivate, and develop a teamExcellent communication skills and a genuine client-first approachHighly organised, with the ability to juggle a varied portfolio and competing prioritiesComfortable with property management technologyBlock management experience is desirable but not essentialA connection to or enthusiasm for the East London community is a bonusWhy This Role?A genuine Head of Department position - real ownership, real influenceJoin at an exciting point of growth and help shape the department's futureReport directly to the founders and have a voice in business strategyClose-knit, supportive team with a strong community cultureMonday to FridayCompetitive salary of circa £50,000
