About the Role
The Seasonal Sports Park Manager plays a key role in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone at O’Fallon Family Sports Park. This position thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and serves as a friendly leader on site, supporting staff, assisting guests, and helping events run smoothly.
Managers interact daily with coaches, players, families, officials, and tournament directors (all guests) to ensure each practice, game, and event is organized, enjoyable, and well supported. This role also provides oversight of concession and event staff, helping maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and teamwork across the park.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Provides on-site leadership and guidance to seasonal part-time staff as well as supporting staff performance, training, and accountability.
Serve as a friendly liaison between the O’Fallon Parks & Recreation Department and park guests.
Welcome guests and help ensure a positive, enjoyable experience for all
Open and close park gates and unlock/secure fields and facilities as scheduled as well as monitoring the complex, promote park rules, and address concerns in a professional, respectful manner
Work closely with tournament directors, coaches, and officials to support successful practices, games, and events.
Assist with supply transport and setup between concession stands and event areas.
Provide oversight and assistance to concessions and event staff guests.
Help ensure concession operations follow food safety, cleanliness, and service standards.
Make recommendations regarding praise or discipline of sports park employees.
Enforce safe food handling procedures at all times.
Complete City-provided Food Safety training prior to beginning work.
Assist with preparing and serving food and beverages in a fast-paced environment.
Help maintain clean, organized concession areas throughout each shift.
Perform additional tasks related to park operations as needed.
Report maintenance or mechanical concerns to the Recreation Coordinator.
Must be able to work independently without direct supervision, as well as in a team environment to safely and productively complete tasks. The ability to exercise initiative, good judgement, and time management while remaining productive is essential. Work assignments will generally fall within operational areas described for this position, but the ability to support park needs in other areas will be required at times.
