Are you passionate about horticulture and looking for a long-term career with growth opportunities? We are seeking a General Manager Trainee to join our Nursery and Greenhouse operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, career-minded individual who is ready to learn every aspect of the business and develop into a leadership role. Candidates will be considered statewide but must be willing to travel and relocate for training and General Manager positions.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or a related field required.
- 4+ years’ experience ideally focused on one or more areas: Production Management, Greenhouse Operations, Nursery Supervisor or Management, or Nursey Sales
- Career-minded with a strong desire to grow into a General Manager position.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn all aspects of nursery operations.
- Willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Some outdoor locations are subject to extreme hot and cold temperatures, and wet or humid conditions.
- Must be willing to travel and relocate for training and future General Management opportunities.
- Must currently reside in the U.S. and have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train in all areas of nursery and greenhouse operations, including production, inventory, customer service, staff supervision, and hiring and developing sales teams
- Learn best practices in plant health, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and quality control.
- Assist with scheduling, team leadership, and operational planning.
- Develop the skills necessary to manage a successful nursery location.
