About the role:
Justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming SEN school in Rugby to recruit a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a full-time role beginning in September 2026 and continuing until the Christmas break in December 2026, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive and rewarding educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication needs and moderate learning difficulties.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support during lessons.
- Help implement individual education and behaviour support plans.
- Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and academic development.
- Assist the class teacher with preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- Relevant qualifications or previous education/support work experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
